Yeah, but "Scheiß" or "Scheiße" is the equivalent to the F word in the US. I wouldn't say they used it inappropriately.

Watch any Scorsese movie and count all instances of "fück". You'll always come up with a 3 digit number. The movies are still great, though, so don't focus that much on the language. Besides, how can you complain both about the cursing and the lack of realism? That's like people talk, hence realistic.
