Unbelievably Stupid Writing - spoilers if you care

I watched this when I was ten and I'm sure that even then I noticed how illogical and stupid the writing was. Take the first episode... they go inside a live volcano and they are told not to worry, the geologist is responsible and wouldn't do anything dangerous... you mean like go inside an erupting volcano??? Why would they go into an erupting volcano? To find out why it's erupting of course. The question is... what were they going to do with that knowledge? "Quick! You grab that side of the Earth's crust and I'll grab the other and we'll put an end to this erupting nonsense! Now HEEEAAAAAVVVVVE!!!!!!!!!!!"

One minute they are trapped by a cave-in until they see the fire monster and they run right out of the volcano. The giant firebird sits in the lava minding it's own business not bothering anyone, but then, "Godzilla is our only hope!!!" and they sic Godzilla on the fire monster. Surprisingly, Godzilla now has lazer vision but has lost his atomic breath. Godzilla also comes off as the most incapable monster fighter ever and 'wins' by blocking the fire monster into a cave. Godzuki then incomprehensibly gets into trouble for splashing in the water and is forced to be towed in a dingy as punishment.

My four year old comes up with more logical stories while playing with toy dinosaurs.

Like Mystery Science Theatre 3000, the jokes we used to make about this show, especially my sister.

She just didn't like 'Aunt Quinn' spouting all of her scientific sounding nonsense.

"It's a super duper wettening liquid," she would say, and my sister would scowl.

Captain Majors pressed that button once to summon Godzilla and my sister talks thru her nose, "Godzilla's answering service, may I help you?"

That was one of the earliest things you learned, or we did, was who started the attack first, and nine times out of ten, the other monster wouldn't be doing anything and Godzilla would attack.

It's almost as amazing to see that 'Lurch' did the voice of Godzilla as it is to see that Ike Eisenmann (whatever happened to him?) did the voice of Pete.

And I recorded the firebird episode from Cartoon Network.

My favorite then, if that says anything, was the one where the animals all became giant, something about the volcano heating the water or something, some minerals, and they had to reverse the effect by Godzilla putting an iceberg in the water to make the animals all shrink again.

A giant manta ray flies out of the water and makes a noise like an eagle.

Always got a kick out of made-up cartoon noises.

An episode of Jabberjaw has another shark growling like a leopard or something.
