Weaver Being a Blond

I read a funny anecdote about how different it was for her to play a blond character. Sigourney wore a wig, and joked that every time she put it on, she could feel her IQ dropping by 20 points, hehe.

She has never looked better.

She did look very good in this movie, and you'd never guess how old she was, because she took good care of her body and her face, something many middle-aged women just give up on.

I know how this is going to sound, but she actually does look dumber in this movie than usual, presumably because of her blonde hair.

well , her job on the ship as "woman who repeats what the computer just said" didnt help :)

I liked that the "real woman" took that job to another level and could translate the computer's tech talk to everyday speak :). You could say she was a computer translator. That's not a bad job at all.

It's also part of her character. It's interesting, because the "actress" character is of average intelligence, just like everyone else, so the "bimbo" aspect is her character on the tv show. In fact, she disliked how the bimbo part of her character got in the way of anyone taking her seriously.

I really liked her in this movie, in taking on the role of a gorgeous busty blonde* she was definitely playing against type! But she nailed it, she played the character who was sensible and likeable, and both proud of her good looks, and aware that her looks wouldn't do anything for her in the situations she found herself in during the movie.

And she looked absolutely great, she's played so many stern professionals I tend to forget that she's a damn good-looking woman.

* The "busty" part was thoroughly faked by the wardrobe and makeup people, Sig talked about it on the behind-the-scenes stuff I've seen.
