What was up with that moment when Javier starts looking into Miranda's ear, going deeper and deeper until we spiral into a black space with barking dogs? It was so freaky and had no explanation (ever), and I almost started saying maybe I didn't want to watch a movie that had weird bits like that (thank goodness I didn't listen to myself). But still- what WAS that?

I thought it was metaphorical. javier was trying to get "into her head," discover what she was thinking and feeling.
