i thought this film was ok but brandy was a total bitch, the scene where she was at the grammy wheere brandy was giving it "you stole my night" number. what does she even mean by her night, her mum has clawed her way to the top ala miss ross herself and some litlte bint who only has 1 song acting like she's the diva, besides that the film wasn't bad

Brandy's horse face needed to be slapped more than once in this film!

Have been checking some music/video sites with no luck, I would also like a copy of it.

Yeah the ending made me cry as well because it is so beautiful.

I thought that Diana Ross was great and that we needed to see more interaction between her and Brian Stokes Mitchell. Brandy got on my nerves a bit.

This movie is real good I got my copy back in 2000 when I was overseas. I'm glad I got a copy I haven't seen a Double Platinum movie anywhere in U.S where I live. Maybe you guys that don't have it can order it off of amazon.com they might have it.

The only part I didn't like in the movie is when Brandy kept dissing her mother, and then when her mother tried to help her with her singing career Brandy kept getting an attitude like she knew more than her mother. I love the ending that made me cry also.

It's been a while since I saw this but I see a couple people mentioned Brandy's behavior towards her mother (one person even insults her, how rude), I can't remember if I was that bothered by it but it did annoy me a bit. I do think she should have listened to her mother. But could you imagine how you would feel if you found out your superstar mother abandoned you? You're brought up thinking one way about your mother, just to find out that she was a big star who shared herself with the world but never her own flesh and blood. So I could understand the rejection a bit.

Hey tell me, is it stalking if I follow her like all the way home without her knowing?

I was a little bit put out how daughter Kayla treated her mother. As usually happens with teenagers in movies like this, you have to end up liking them.

reply

Brandy was a believable teenager in this picture. And very justified in her anger towards her mother.
