Dumb Movie

- My first complaint is the fact that this was OBVIOUSLY filmed in California. It didn't look like Nebraska at all, especially with mountains in the background, and halloween in the midwest is not hot and muggy. It's chilly and dark, not desert-like. Not scary...

- Second, who the hell watches a COTC movie that takes place (for the most part) in some hospital, which was too swanky looking for a small Nebraska town anyway?! Not scary...

- Third, not only were there NO children, but how are we supposed to believe that a bunch of smart ass teenagers would follow some crazy midget into the corn fields? And for that matter, where did they get their outfits? Is there a Hot Topic in Gatlin? No jobs, no people, nothing, but yet they're dressed like it's 1999 in L.A. Odd, but not scary...

- Fourth, why was the lead chick so flaky? Any smart human being would've been gone, no matter how bad they wanted to find their birth mother, but DAMN!! She was an idiot! We as the audience were supposed to believe it was her "destiny" to go there, but the plot was so complicated I never could figure out why anyone would want to stay there. Lame!!! Not scary...

- Fifth, plot holes galore, (how did Isaac have kids? wasn't he dead anyway?), unengaging characters, shoddy acting, NO ATMOSPHERE WHATSOEVER, and NOT SCARY!!! And we're supposed to believe that this film ties everything together? Please...

I'm probably in the minority here, but COTC 4 is the best of the bunch. Good acting, great cinematography, ominous music, good acting and actors, and you actually believe it's in a small midwestern town because it is dammitt!! It wasn't too overly plot-heavy so it relied on mood and atmosphere, which is how a COTC movie should be done. The first one was good, but not that scary. The music makes it work for that one.

Answers to your questions my friend from the COTC "it girl"

It doesn't matter where they actually filmed this only the fictional place. So it was filmed in California, Psycho was filmed on a sound stage and back lot. It's your imagination that makes it believeable and real.

- Second, who the hell watches a COTC movie that takes place (for the most part) in some hospital, which was too swanky looking for a small Nebraska town anyway?! Not scary...
Second, I happen to love this film. It's my second favorite. I love the fact that it's set in a hospital, that is NOT too "swanky" for the town.I love movies that are filmed in hospitals/asylums. Also, remember it is run down just like eveything else but also remember there are a good many people there too so it's used a lot more than the rest of the town.

There were kids there too. Look in the hospital. Also remember this film involves the "children of the children" so they are going to be older. And John Franklin (Isaac) isn't a midget he has growth hormone decifiency. That's why he's short. Also, Isaac isn't the leader in this film Gaberiel is. Isaac is in a coma remember, someone has to lead the kids that were Gabe comes in. Here's the real leader in the film. Remember too, Hemingford even though 19 miles away is near Gatlin and the kids (in COTC 2) once lived there. So they could get their clothes from there or other places. They do have cars.

Remember the real reason Hannah is there isn't just to find her birth mother she is fullfilling an "unknown" prophecy. It's her destiny like the film says. She is destined to do this no matter what. Once she opened the coffin in the cemetary it started the first part of the prophecy. Isaac made that prophecy years ago in the first film unbeknownst to us. It states that "On the eve of her 19th birthday the first daughter of the chosen will come back to find out who she is. And, He Who Walks Behind the Rows will awaken." Isaac wanted Hannah to be the mother of a superior race, a child that would lead all of the children, even Isaac himself.

We never know who Matt's mother is or when Isaac fathered a child. We must assume it was around the same time Amos fathered Hannah because Hannah and Matt are the same age. So Rachel was as we know pregnat in the first film as is evident when we see her with Amos. I thought is was a great plot actually I thought it helped fill in some of the plot holes from the previous sequels. Because John Franklin who plays Isaac actually helped write the screen play for this so he actually know what the others were about. Some of the other films it didn't seem like the writers knew very much. This film isn't suppose to "tie" it all together. It gives way for a sequel with 7 is definately not the sequel to this particular film but soon. The acting was fantastic and this actually brought the story back to Gatlin instead of placing it in a fake town like Divinity Falls (COTC 5) or taking it to a big city like Chicago (COTC 3). I love love love this film and it's the best only to the original!!! So I hope I answered your questions and helped you out. Sorry if you did't like my answers but pretty much the go-to girl for all things COTC. I study the films and watch them tons and tons so.

This is my 5th fave of the series. It's okay not the greatest plot in the world. I mean kids who develop a disease and start to kill the adults. With their teeth falling out and breaking out into fevers? That so totally goes way off plot lines for the films. But I thought Brandon Kleyla did a great job as Josiah!!! I loved his back story too!

First: So what if it was filmed someplace else. Use your imagination.

Second:The hospital was actually a good choice. Better than her just finding Issac in a corn field.

Third: Teenagers are children too, y'know. Don't forget Malachai who was a teenager at 15 and who knows? Maybe there IS a Hot Topic in Gatlin.

Forth: Would you have been happier if she decided "This town is messed up. I'm just gonna leave and make the movie look dumb"? She stayed in Gatlin so there could be a plot. It was a part of the prophecy too.

Fifth: Issac was posesessed by He Who Walks Behind the Rows. I believe it was Malachai who died. Issac could've had a kid when HE was a kid. Remember what they said? It was something along the lines of "Only a child should care for a child". I don't remember it exactly.

I actually thought this was the best one. It actually takes place in Gatlin and contributes more to the story than the other sequels.

you obviously havent read the book. each child from gatlin has to have a child before going to he who walks behind the rows that explains how isaac had a kid. this is a film for some who dosent mind thinking and its based more on the cult fans of the series the ones who have read the short story and paid enough attention to what was goin on the origional the second and the third. isaacs death was never confirmed in his last shots of the origional he was screaming for malachai. the teenagers were clearing the way for the children who were running around the town and isaac was able to mold the minds of a whole generation of kids who would have influenced their kids. why do some teenagers beleive in jesus? because thats the way they have been raised to beleive in a power greater than their own isaac is seen by them as a modern jesus a saviour for them thats how he got people to follow him he got the kids and killed the adults who wouldnt beleive him killed them and raised children to beleive in him wh would pass it onto their kids i hope you read this and understand it ii hope it fills in some holes for you and helps you see the movie for what it is a well made horror film with a story and a look at how children can be impressioned to shape the world which is what i thought stephen king wrote the ok about kids are the future

The acting was very good but the movie plot was not that great.

This Movie was the second best of the series. Awesome Plot Awesome Acting and Isaac Returns!!!!

part 4 was okay but the plot was kinda stupid. Josiah made up for the lack of plot and hokey effects (a similar problem with part 3 with the big fake looking patato monster (presumably HWWBTR)

Also this sequel didn't rely on hokey effects like the others (2 3 4 5) just your basic cornfield horror film like the first (even though the first had some poor effects they still were awesome to watch and sure convinced me enough to like them.)

Gabriel was the true leader of the children in part 6 (Isaac was actually a red herring in the film; we are meant to believe that he is the leader again but in fact Gabriel is manipulating everyone according to his own "plan".)

Calling this a dumb movie is far too generous. Rancid pile of plague-ridden dog $#!+ is a far more apt description.
