Jabberjaw was a great cartoon and I love watching it to this day. Jabberjaw was the best part of the show and this is one of my favorite cartoons of all time.

I loved it, but watching it as an adult, Shelly looks high to me.

If a clock doesn't get enough food, does it go back 4 seconds?

Too many cartoon shows borrowed the same plot devices from Scooby Doo. A group of kids and a goofy sidekick solving crimes with musical interludes. The only difference being where the action takes place. Jabberjaw was one of the worst lasting just 16 episodes. All of these shows wouldn't have existed if not for Scooby Doo. I did like the theme song for Funky Phantom although the show stunk.

The Amazing Chan and The Chan Clan.
Funky Phantom
Jabberjaw
Goober and the Ghostchasers
The Buford Files
The New Schmoo
Clue Club
Captain Caveman
Fangface
Speedbuggy
Josie and The Pussycats

While i certainly disagree about "only" difference being the setting.

But still if it's the content you dislike, that's okay. But the process is just a part of how entertainment works. If you dislike things because they followed a formula, mystery shows are one of the many things that should annoy the living hell out of you. Since you can't honestly hate on those shows being conceived derivatively when so much of detective fiction has been copying and acting derivative off one another since before any of us were born.

Since yeah by the same proxy, Scooby Doo would have existed either if if weren't for the things that were it's building blocks. Fiction follows patterns and heavily uses formula. Anyone that misses this must have some pretty small reference pools.
