No longer enjoyable

I just don't enjoy the Steve Harvery version of FF. It used to be interesting and it seemed to revolve around the questions and answers. Now it's 50% comedy and silliness. The family must spend hours being coached on what to say and how to act. Someone will give the stupidest answer and everyone will be like "good answer, good answer!" even after they get X'd!!

reply

Hang this one on SH himself.

He's now an XP/question writer for FF. So if you hear more "Grandma/Grandpa" questions, that's SH the writer.

These days there is nothing "family" involved in family feud. It's gotten quite raunchy with all the sexual innuendos.

reply

What I want to know is, who is answering these surveys? If the question isn't raunchy the answers are! One of the questions was what would you like to be holding when you die. "My saluting member" was one and something about a significant other's body parts was another.

reply

100 percent agree! I have a friend staying with me for the holidays and we've been watching FF. Every question is raunchy and offensive and Steve Harvey spends too much time joking around when we should "GET ON WITH THE GAME!" Disgusting! Sad what the powers that be will do for ratings! Rerun the Richard Dawson version!

reply

I agree as well. Some of the questions are a bit much. The other day they had a two questions which were ridiculous. Yes who are they surveying?

reply

I agree! There are WAY to many sex questions now. What happened to Family Feud being a family show?

reply

I agree. There are WAY too many sex questions nowadays. I don't mind a sex every now and then but the sex questions are WAY too frequent. I thought Family Feud was a family show. I remember when Richard Karn was the host and he asked normal questions that didn't have anything to do with sex. Every now and then he asked occasional sex questions. He didn't overdo it like Steve Harvey does now

I haven't watched this in a long time so I decided to watch a couple of episodes on GSN. What has happened to this show? First of all, is Steve Harvey deaf or hard of hearing? Every one of the contestants screamed their answers at the top of their lungs. The survey questions were filthy and some of the answers were worse. Most of the questions seemed to be designed to elicit dirty answers. One of the questions was, "Name a word for the rear end that starts with a B". One of the contestants said, "Banana". Really? There was only one answer left on the board and it was bottom. Was she trying to be dirty or was she just dumb? I'm guessing dumb since all of her answers were just as ridiculous. This is really almost unwatchable and whoever produces this show should be ashamed of themselves.

I cannot figure why Family Feud is still surviving in syndication with Steve Harvey and why it has a popular huge fanbase. When Family Feud made it's debut in 1976 with Richard Dawson it became a huge hit but ever since the Ray Combs version of Family Feud debuted in 1988 Family Feud has always been one of the most watched game shows in syndication but ever since Ray Combs's tragic death in 1996 and Richard Dawson made a short comeback to host Family Feud in 1995 Family Feud still had it's appeal. But when Louie Anderson began hosting Family Feud the show had gone downhill and started having adult surveys and lost it's luster. But when Richard Karn filled Louie Anderson's sneakers as host the show had gotten worser than ever but when John O'Hurley had hosting duty of Family Feud the show remained the same but still had adult oriented surveys but when Richard Dawson passed away Family Feud should've gotten canceled. And now it seems that ever since GSN announced that they were gonna add reruns of Steve Harvey's Family Feud Steve Harvey has made a huge name for himself on GSN and GSN overplays Family Feud more often than any other game show they have on their lineup. I hope Family Feud gets cancelled soon because it's way too overhyped and overplayed in syndication
