So it's a pretty safe assumption that the disproportionate number of black families appearing on the show is purposely done by the producers.
shareI lived in Atanta for years. It's pretty black. Obviously it's an intentional direction by the producers but I don't disagree with it. I think it's great seeing black families which are many, big and wholesome, get some representation. And from a show stand point, it's fun seeing different families from different backgrounds face off against each other. It's the Jews who really get the shaft on the show. Tons of Jews in Atlanta and they almost never show up.

There's a justification above that it's taped in Atlanta, which has a high black population. But many of the families are from out of town.
With 13% of the US Population being black, it just seems that statistically, they are favoring black families here. Is that fair?
Nobody is going to admit to it. But I saw a blog from a former contestant who confirmed that several families are waiting in the Green Room during taping, and that the chosen family was always such that the competitors were black vs. white. Just sayin'.
