Has no-one else picked up on the true meaning of this film?

Reading the reviews of The Wolves Of Kromer it seems to me that few really appreciate the true meaning and representations of the film.

From the hypocrisy of the Catholic Church to the use of Wolves as the representation of gay men (outcast, deeply mistrusted, persecuted and deeply misunderstood) this film for me is the best "gay" film around at the moment and I suspect will be for a long time to come.

As much as love Brokeback Mountain, I love Wolves of Kromer more!

I really loved this movie. It was so sweet, and I loved the ending; Gabs and Seth (and the grandmum) all meeting up in heaven. It may not have been a big budget film or anything, but it's one of the best I've seen!

I rather think people tend to just ignore that part of it, much like folks did with Brokeback Mountain (which was a feat in itself).

I think most people picked up on the "true meaning" that you were talking about it. But we'd just rather talk about the amazingly good-looking characters ...and the not-so-witty metaphors. :)

I was picking up on the shady character of the Priest, early on. The confusion of Seth ad his sexuality or Wolfness was really nice and I loved that Seth & Gabe met up at the end. With the Grandmother no less. It was a feel good movie to me, even with the bad stuff that had happened.
