If there was no Mario or Sonic...
What would the video game industry be like? I can't think of anything else that have made more of an impact than both Mario and Sonic. Heck Sonic wouldn't exist if it weren't for Mario because Sega had to make a mascot to compete with Nintendo. I still play the old Mario Bros. game and the Sonic games because they have made such an impact to many of us. I hope neither of these mascots fade away like Crash Bandicoot did, because Mario is a fun Italian plumber who loves to travel through pipes and says funny quotes like "Mama mia thats a spicy meatball!", and Sonic is a cool fastest hedgehog who collects rings and fights animals whom were roboticized, and who can forget his "Gotta Juice!" quote?
Even though Mario has been around quite a bit longer than Sonic, I still respect both of them equally.
