we saw parts of this movie during my Germanclass and now i want to finish it
does anybody know wherei can find this dvd with english subtitles?
I am also looking for a version with english subtitles. I bought it in Germany a few years ago and unfortunately it didn't have english subtitles (and my german is not good enough (yet) to watch it without). PLEase reply if you know where to get the english version! danke!! Julia

shareI am also on the hunt for an English subtitled version of the film. I don't speak a word of German, but still very much enjoyed the film.
It seems that the film has not been officially released in any English speaking territory. But it may be possible to get a festival screening copy.
I am hoping the success of the Life of Others will increase interest internationally in life in East Germany and mean that eventually this great film will get the UK/US release it deserves.
It would be nice if they even made German subtitles for it, I can't understand why so many German DVDs (bought in Germany) lack even basic German subtitles!
