Sure wish they would make a game past this storyline...

Instead of going backwards like the last several games have done. I loved the Zelda franchise as a child because of its story and that medieval feel you got while playing it. Not to mention the magical aspect of it with Link's sword being able to zap and Gannon being truly corrupted and in pig like form. I liked the landmarks like spectacle rock and such.

I was cool with A Link to the Past being a prequel because at least the game play dynamic was still the same and the added weapons were great.

But with OOT on the series has just taken a radical turn that bugs me being a fan of the original story. I hate Ganondorf, what a silly name and an even sillier rendering of a character. How am I supposed to take a redheaded man this seriously. I hate how the series has taken on a more Japanese like feel (OOT was almost straight up anime and we have enough of that). Link's voice sounds as if he's shouting about Godzilla. Can't we at least have a decent UK or American actor to do the yah's and grunts and such for when LOZ is released over here? I hate how the triforce never seems to come into play anymore. Oh sure it's talked about, but it's not used as a weapon so much as just a plot device. And I hate that Link's sword no longer zaps, that was one of the most magical things about the original series...and no one's ever given any explanation as to why it's gone.

Sadly I don't see them ever going forward, but I think it would be great to get back to a basic, post Zelda 2 storyline where the minions of the underworld have resurrected Gannon, or better yet, one has taken his place (after all Gannon gets a bit old). The 3-D game could render the original terrain from Zelda 1, which was so huge it would be fantastic to see on screen. The original dungeon music could finally come back into play, one of my favorite pieces of score from the series. And Link could be in his 20's and perhaps Zelda wouldn't be a damsel, but not someone who helps you in the game. Her role could be to defend the palace with the palace guard.

The citizens and townsfolk wouldn't be so strange looking. Seriously I love LOZ, but why are they so anxious to design such bizarre looking characters. Even in Twilight Princess, that baby sumo wrestler that owned a business was just bizarre, and takes me out of the seriousness of the game.

Link wouldn't have to turn into anything in order to do his job, because he was just that good at it (another annoying thing in recent games, having to change forms...I found being a wolf just gross).

The free roaming style of the game could stand to come back as well. Sure you have the options to free roam in the later games, but you have to get this thing, go that way, insert here and play this temple. In the original Zelda if you came upon Dungeon 4 when you were looking for Dungeon 3, you could more than likely take on and beat Dungeon 4 no sweat because the game didn't point you in such a straight line.

I write this simply because I am hoping there is someone out there who is with me on this. The younger generation might find it silly, but my original 8-bit friends might just like the idea of going back into the type of story that started it all.

That sounds awesome, or maybe they could remake the original game but in 3D

Have you read the message, the writing on the wall
Could it be the answer, the answer to it all

What do you have against red-headed men? And what's particularly gross about being a wolf?

I have nothing against red headed men in reality, though I have met some really unkind ones in my time. But in a video game it just looks silly Ganondorf's appearance just looks silly to me with his beak like nose, the hair, the eyebrows. I would rather fight the thing he turns into period...that looks scary. That's an epic villain there.

Regarding the wolf thing when I play Zelda games I tend to really try to visualize myself in the shoes of Link and usually use my own name when creating a new save slot. And I don't like the idea of being a wolf or anything furry. So seeing the character I am playing all furry, sniffing the ground, biting nasty creatures and such. I don't know, it's a quirk but I don't care for it.
