HEY!! I HAVE A REALLY BIG QUESTION!

I saw a movie when I was 12 that had a title similair to this movie. So, I was just wondering if this was the same flick. The movie I saw had an evil, demon-like dog, and at the beginning the dog kills it's owner, and then the mother see's the dog but later learns the police had killed it, and then we realize that the mother is controlling the evil events with a part of her brain, and then this CGI demon dog-hellbeast attacks the mothers house, and a bolt of lightning strikes the mother on the head and fries the evil part of her brain, and the dog disapears.
