These are great casting Ideas.
I actually wrote a movie script for this game. it's not very long, only aboyt 54 pages (which works out to approximately an hour of screen time). I have cut some stuff out and added my own dialogue to some parts to make it flow better. But it's pretty much all there interms of the game's storyline.
I've been trying to make a script for years, but between work and this stupid college business, I've only gotten like 12 pages. I think it'd be a great idea to turn the game into a book, and that's what I'd be using the script for, myself. But dang, what a good movie this could make!
My cast:
Billy Zane as Carlson, if he hadn't already done a Titanic movie. Start over.
Paul Rudd as Carlson, could pull the haunted 50-year-old & the young new agent.
Jason Connery as Officer Morrow.
Lea Thompson as Penny Pringle.
Keira Knightley as Georgia Lambeth and Shailagh Hacker (same actress in the game).
That guy who played the guy that almost shot Jason Bourne at the end of the 3rd movie should be Jack Hacker.
Bill Murray as the Purser.
John Goodman as Max Siedlemann.
Harvey Keitel as Zeitel, I totally agree on that one.
William Mosely as Haderlitz.
Greg Kinnear could pull a Rev. Troutt with a little work.
Kevin Costener as Mr. Burns, except he's too old...
Geena Davis as Mrs. Conklin.
Nicholas Cage or Harrison Ford as Mr. Conklin.
Mel Gibson could do Charles Lambeth, if they let him look old.
Edward Norton maybe as Vlad Demonic? I don't know, I can't really think of anyone for him.
So there's still Daisy Cashmore, Smethells, the landlady, the random crewmen, and who knows who else, but there's my fairly long list.

If LEO didn't star as JACK in the movie Titanic, I think he could very well play the main character.
