Impossible to do everything?

I remember reading either in a walk through, or wikipedia that it's impossible to complete all the subplots in the final stage of the game, and have enough time to make it off the ship alive....but on my latest run though I, I played through twice. Once, where I acquired all the items early. And again, where I let Vlad take the Rubaiyat and missed the painting.

In both scenarios I let Zietel shoot me, instead of using the gas pen. And in both games I was able to

- Win the card game and get the boat pass
- Help the Hackers get baby Eddie back
- Get the antidote for Georgia

And I also had time to go down to the boilers and trade the shawl for the book in scenario #2. That's everything right? Aside from the different variations, like bribing for the notebook instead of the book for example.

I def had more fun with scenario 2, I got involved with so many more people, and finding the book location note in the Turkish bath was more fun than decoding the message I thought.

You also need to get the real necklace from the doll in Sasha Barbicon's cabin but when you have done so remember to leave the fake necklace in the doll cos if you try to take both items with you Sasha will shoot you as you try to leave the cabin. However, you can do all this before the ship starts sinking but remember to leave the real necklace, the painting and the Rubaiyat with the Purser so Vlad won't take them all when he knocks you out with the wrench.

Once you have the notebook, painting, Rubaiyat and the real necklace and have managed to get into a lifeboat then you have completed the game properly.

I find the way you complete everything/the fullest you can get out of the game..

You get the Rubiyat

You skip obtaining the necklace (although if you do, it does not make a difference in completing the game fully)

--Miss the painting.. After assigned to you,, walk around the boat deck, Penny will stop you and tell you about a conversation happening between Sasha and Zitel, once this happens its too late for the painting. I like this way better since you get to hear a conversation (a foreshadow on Willy's death) and makes the sinking objectives more intense.

--Allow Zitel to shoot you in the fake smoke stack.

The sinking.. With the Rubiyat and notebook in hand, and after visting the 1st class lounge (if you by chance have the painting DONT talk to Zitel) go down 2nd class stairs. The Hackers will offer the painting in exchange for Shelia's baby.. In the meantime, return to the Turbine room, for the Shaw you receive from Clarice Limehouse in the 1st class lounge will be exchanged for Lambeth diamonds (make sure Vlad does not leave the ship with Rubiyat or Lambeth diamonds)

After giving Beatrix Conkling the letter, take the baby to them and you receive the paining. Talk to Zitel, he will inform you of him poisoning Lady Georgia. Exchange the painting with him for the antidote.... Save Georgia in Sasha's cabin. Avoid leaving the ship with the Gose-Jones.

Go to the smoking room and win the boat pass for Rivera (save the game before you engage in the card time, in case you lose) You should have The Lambeth diamonds and The Rubiyat to gamble with,, if you loose one of the ithems, it makes no difference.

Exchange the boat pass with Zitel for the painting. By now all the boats that are left the ones at the bow.. Talk to Officer Morrow several times about keeping passengers calm (dont be pushy).. He will eventually let you on,, most likely within the final sinking time frame before 2am (when the last boat leaves)

This way,, you leave the ship with The Painting and The Notebook... It makes no differance if the Rubiyat and/or Diamonds leave with you as long as they are not with Vlad... And you saved Georgia, and stayed on the ship till the last min.. This way you got the complete works the game has to offer.

Several fun people to talk to during the sinking is Trout, Daisy, and of course Andrew Conkling.. I like waiting till the final boats at the front for the fatal conversation,, makes it more dramatic to how it actually way.
