and at the top of the list is bananas

it's cool to do a handful, or maybe 1 every few years, but the contestants that glom onto this show should really consider getting a life/career

the prize money isn't even that good, especially after taxes.

the "champs" just gloating so much makes me roll my eyes, like cool all of them would be a champ too if they did as many challenges as you guys..

i respect darrell and laurel because theyre basically unstoppable aside from weird technicalities, and they don't show up too often, and obviously CT is great because he never allows himself to be a pawn, but i really just find this group as a whole, pretty obnoxious

Bananas is annoying but I honestly don't get people who try to make it look like his life sucks

Banana's Life: Spend a couple months every year partying in exotic locations while competing in cool challenges no one else gets to do, make enough money (Evan said on a podcast last month that Bananas got like 60k just to show up for the last challenge + more if he made it a certain number of weeks + 275k win, the money is definitely solid) in those few months to spend the rest of the year travelling, relaxing and staying fit.

Average 30 year old American life: Stuck at a soul sucking 9 to 5, get overworked and paid *beep* maybe take a week off after saving up for awhile

yeah, he's really missing out

not saying he doesn't have fun, but he's missing out on stability. this show only has a few more seasons left in it, and then what is he going to do? he's never had any sort of career. and the friendships he makes are these shallow reallity tv friendships that probably aren't that genuine. yes he's living sort of a fantasy life for now, but it won't last.

Exactly, this right there. What is he going to do when the show stops, b/c it will and from what I can tell, he can't have a real job, no way he could get off as much as he does. Sure he sells shirts and bobble heads, but once the show stops, I doubt he'll sell many. I'm sure he's putting some back, but not enough for him to live on, so I just wonder what he'll do.

Bananas gets 60K just to show up... he'll be doing just fine when the show ends.

well 60k, then you have to take at least 40% on taxes. He still has to live on something. But again as I said he cant live on his winning for the rest of his life. Maybe for alittle while but then what will he do?
