Naval Air Station Lemoore, California

I was born at this particular air base in 1967. We lived in Alvarez Village which was new housing at the time. It was 20 years later when I asked my parents why the housing section was called Alvarez Village. When they told me he was a Mexican-American from Northern California, who was a POW during the Vietnam War, and spent 8 years of his life caged up, and released alive, I was completely blown away. Unfortunately, this was a lesson I learned from my mom and dad(Dad was a 20 year Navy man)and not in school that I attended on base and eventually, off base.

"Scott(Stevens), you and I have done this before. Come get the Cup!"
