Sure lots of so called neat camera work, but the overall film sucked, 3/3. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is an example of truly creative cinematography and is 10,000% better than Magnolia tripe.
Especially annoying was the soundtrack.

It wasn't to your taste, fair enough. Comparing to to another movie to "illustrate" your point is a little childish - you like another movie better than Magnolia: what does that prove? Couldn't you have spared a little time to explain why you didn't like it? I happen to like Aimee Mann so didn't have a problem with the soundtrack. Had songs by U2 or Justin Bieber been dotted throughout I doubt I would have sat through it more than once, so I see that if you're not a fan of Mann you wouldn't enjoy it. As you can see from this board, there are many people willing to put into words why they love this movie so much - simply saying you don't like it seems petulant and is, frankly, peeing in the wind.

Magnolia wasn't bad, it had it's moments, but I really wouldn't care to watch it again (3hrs) Good to see once, move on... Which makes it not a good movie. Face it our favourite movies we have watched at least 15x in our lives so far.
I thought it was better on the 2nd viewing.
