Lovely and Heartwarming...

Do you know? if this film is so much more differant from the book, then I am glad I have never read it..

John Thaw`s character someone said was cruel...I dont agree , he was a grumpy and lonely man as he had lost both his wife and 5yr old son to Scarlettina < not sure of the spelling of that disease, but under the circumstances, the way poor William had been treated by his very sick Mum, then Tom Oakly was a saint!.

I just adore this lovely film and all the wonderful actors in it...oh yes and that lovely border collie, I have one who is now 17 and a half yrs old, great dog!.
Must get this DVD soon.

To me it was sooo believable and I cried a couple of times if not more, I only wish Zac had made it, but sadly thats what happens in wartime...

Just wanted to say that IMHO the film itself was not particularly great - but the story was really wonderful and that overcame any of the flaws.
