How does this movie end? SPOILERS

Hello. I remember watching this movie years ago and I seem to remember Jay Mohr being thrown off a balcony by Brittany Murphy, but in true horror movie style, he rises only to be shot dead by the female deputy. I looked on moviepooper and wikipedia and they mention he was killed outright by Brittany. So am I right or wrong? Cheers.
