I think if there were to be a BGC2040 movie this would be the main cast:
Priss-Holly Valance(aswell as an actor holly can sing which makes her perfect for the role and she kinda looks like priss)
Linna-Anne Hathaway
Nene-Ashlee Simpson or Kate Bosworth
Sylia-Jessica Alba
Who do you think should be the cast?
I like your pick for Linna - Anne Hathaway. I think she is a good actress and could probably handle the physical aspects of the part. I also think that Camilla Belle would fit this part.
Nene - I think that I would want Hayden Panettiere or Alicia Silverstone for the part. I think that either of them would be good in the roll and could pull off the shy irritating bit of Nene well. Both can handle a physical roll as well and solid actresses. I would pick Dakota Fanning if she were older because I think that she could do the part justice as the young girl computer nerd. (no offense to anyone on computer nerd as I am one myself). Nene is my favorite character so I would want someone really good in this part. I dont think Ashlee Simpson could do it but you never know. I dont think Kate Bosworth can act her way through anything.
Sylia - This part I think needs someone seasoned but I cannot think of anyone that could do the part that would not be too old. I think that Ali Larter could fill this spot well. I think that Sylia should be a little older than the other girls so I also like Gabrielle Anwar or Scarlett Johansson. I like the Sylia character with dark hair from the original series but I am sure either could pull it off.
Priss - I have not seen Holly Valance in anything so I am not sure about her. I do agree the part should have someone that can sing if needed. I would actually like to see Reece Witherspoon give this part a try. I think she could pull off the singing and no question on her acting. Her as a bad girl would be interesting. Juliet Lewis could also pull this off. I think she is underrated as an actress but her singing would fit the part I think.
I would like to see a live action movie handle with some dignity and not just as a popcorn filler movie. Something that will make an impression. I was happy that James Cameron picked up the Battle Angel license but I have not heard anything lately about that project since he is working on Avatar. I know he had said he will only do 3d movies from now on so it would be interesting to see what Battle Angel would look like in 3d
Jessica Alba as Sylia Stingray?! What the Hell?! Wasn't it bad enough that she ruined Susan Storm/the Invisible Woman, now she has to ruin one of the best anime heroines out there?
Ali Larter on the other hand I can accept as Sylia.
I think Priss & Linna should be played by Japanese actresses. The characters are meant to be Japanese after all. Same with Daley Wong.
No idea who could play Nene, but I'm sure any given number of generic cute girl actresses could play her part sufficiently.
I could easily see Clive Owen playing either Nigel Kirland or Brian J. Mason. I could also see Jim Caviezel playing Nigel with Christian Bale as Mason.
For Leon, well if you want the rougher looking Leon of 2040, then go with someone like Hugh Jackman, Eric Bana, Gerard Butler or Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Interestingly, any 4 of them could play Nigel as well.
