Hi, at one point i think i remember boys fighting but its not violent.I think the lad uses bad language maybe twice, but you wouldnt notice it. Actually I cant believe this is a PG13 i have seen much much worse, this film has nothing in it that is bad, ive seen kids tv more adult in nature.

The movie Beteljuice comes to mind when people talk about this movie being PG13

It's a good movie with a good message (not like beteljuice)I love beteljuice but if a kid can watch that, there is no reason they can't watch this movie and unlike beteljuice i don't remember the "f word" being used once

reply

Language definitely. S*** at least a dozen times, D*** even more, B**** fair amount of times, G**D*** a few times, A** a few times.

I'm pretty sure this film is available in two versions. I just watched it with my children (I read the book years ago) and I don't remember a a single word uttered that the previous poster mentioned. The film we watched was distributed by Feature Films for Families and must have been edited. I might also add that I don't really remember much language in the book either so the edited version is truer to the book in that spirit.

reply

Yea , This movie is PG13, But IDK , Theres alot of cursing . It should be rated NC17

reply

You can get it second hand on Ebay, or Amazon, I think in the edited version. We have that one. It was put out by Feature Films For Families in an edited version, and that version does not contain any swearing.

reply

Do you know where I can get an origional copy ? Where there is cursing , The unedited version ?

I didnt understand that scene in the movie. why did they tell him to touch his toes?

reply

I'm guessing that a body cavity search was standard procedure (upon capture and re-admittance to any correctional facility), just in case of drugs or other contraband being brought in from outside.

reply

haha. God forbid your kids actually hear some swear words OUTSIDE of school.

Its the preacher's kid syndrome waiting to happen. Let them grow up and decide for themselves what is right or wrong. I guarantee you, nothing in a PG-13 movie will be the worst they'll hear today anyhow.

We have the Family Films version at my house and we really enjoy. There is no need to have the unedited version with all the bad words and stuff (unless u enjoy hearing them).
