Good portrayal of a Christian

I just saw this movie with a friend, and loved it. How refreshing to find a film that portrays a genuine, strong Christian character! Usually Christians are portrayed as ignorant and ineffectual. This film loudly proclaims how agape love changes people. It also honestly portrayed the unloving response of some of Mattie’s Christian friends that sadly is so typical of many Christians today. I think every Christian should see this movie, and be reminded that the true Christian life is not safe or easy—it is about sharing God’s true love with others.

I totally agree!! Mattie's faith is so strong, and she uses it in the right way, which is something a lot of people, Christian or not should learn. She showed compassion in a situation where most people would just walk away! I love this movie!!

Through the reading of Matthew 25, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, Mrs. Rigsbee was touched, which led her to reach out to Wesley. Wesley saw compassion, Lord Jesus Christ in her, the Light, and he responded to the Light. Which he probably had never known.
