Are they planning to release more DVD's now that season 1 is out?

Can we look forward to the rest of the series being released? Does anyone know? I really love this series and I am so pleased they finally released season 1 on DVD.

reply

The other countries are so lucky to get the DVDs. My country is treated like as if it wasn't there. It was under... you know what during World War II. And yes, 2nd Season is coming out soon slowly. If possible, please help my country tell whichever company or whoever is in charged of the Powerpuff Girls DVD products because the Powerpuff Girls Fans desperately need them as well as the Comic Books. Please and Thank You.

Blossom: Love is being with who you love the most... and I... love you...

reply

Yes! I don't understand why it has been such a s-l-o-w process to finally have the series released on DVD. I am glad they are releasing the episodes in order; not like the powers that be did for the videotapes. Please, please, PLEASE release ALL the episodes! And in EVERY country, EVERY region!

Cartoon Network seems to be releasing the old shows at one season set, per year. Note I say OLD cartoon shows as yes, I am well aware they've released BEN 10 and FOSTER'S HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS dvds already. If the "Samurai Jack" releases are any indication, we can look forward to Season 2 of "The Powerpuff Girls" sometime next spring. With Season 3 in 2009, and so on.

Side-Note: The reason as stated above is a lot of the older Cartoon Network shows have not been digitally transferred yet. Shows like BEN 10 and FOSTER'S are produced for HD quality ratio and can be instantly transferred to DVD.

The only show that may take a horrifically long amount of time will probably be DEXTER'S LABORATORY, some of the film from what I understand was actually damaged through the years. It's a shame they didn't take as much care with the earlier shows as they've done with the new ones.

reply

Thanks for the info! It's too bad about Dexter's Laboratory. How could the film have gotten damaged? I mean, this isn't like old Hollywood films that have had to go through a presevation process. These films are relatively new in comparrison and I would have thought that any cartoons from the 1990's forward would have some sort of digital masters.

reply

Cartoon Network's resources when they were still merged with HANNA-BARBARA ANIMATION were scarce. The film was cheap because they were still starting out at that time, this can be referenced by the grainy film in many of the early CN shorts and animations [TWO STUPID DOGS is a prime example of this].

reply

I don't believe the complete first season sold well. Hardly anybody likes that show anymore. No American children love it, and it's out of style. It's not that popular.

You know what? The way you talked is just like a jerk named Marcus2 in Wikipedia who constantly delete lots of Powerpuff Girls Items. Me and another probably Powerpuff Fan tried to set things right but we cannot do it by ourselves. But don't get me wrong, I'm not accusing anyone until I get proof.

I'm no jerk. And FYI, I am Marcus2 of Wikipedia. And the Powerpuff Girls article on Wikipedia is mainly for people who want to learn facts about the show, as they would want to learn facts in any other section of the encyclopedia. It's not just for you PPG fans, who are CORRUPTING the Wikipedia with your nonsense. You have NO PLACE on Wikipedia! The reason is this: There's no way on God's green Earth that you're a good Wikipedian. You make this thread ridiculous. If you want to carry on, make it someplace else.

Me too! I hope they release ALL the seasons on DVD. Since they used Blossom's eyes as the DVD disc graphic art, they must be planning on atleast 2 more seasons on DVD (Bubbles eyes and Buttercup eyes) and perhaps more. I love this series!

reply

Do not forget about Professor Utonium. If they like, they might put Craig McCracken too. And possibly Mojo Jojo and then everyone in one go.

When you think you lost Hope, you also lost Wisdom, Mercy, Strength, Light, Love & Friendship.

reply

More then likely it'd be Bubbles next as the introduction and the way they always appear during fights and so on are "Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup".

Did Powerpuff Girls Season 1 on DVD sell very well to get the remaining seasons of The Powerpuff Girls on DVD for other Powerpuff Girls fans?

Wow, mdaitch26 called HwangSungKyung01 a jerk. And I do have a feeling that the Powerpuff Girls will sure have a complete second DVD set soon.

In 10 years to celebrate their 20th Anniversary on air? I don't think so. Maybe earlier. Like the 2nd Full Season DVD set comes along with a possible new 7th Season after when if Craig McCracken finishes Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. He is the Original Owner after all.

I'm living in a country which is far away from California, Cartoon Network or Warner Brothers. Good luck because my friends are desperate that I always had to calm them down especially my girlfriend, the more Hardcore Fan than I am.

I saw in another post that season 2 on DVD will be released in Australia in April 2008. Any word for the USA if they plan to release season 2 soon?

Haven't been here for a while, hello again. Rumor where I work has it that THE POWERPUFF GIRLS SEASON 2 will be released in June-July 2008 over here. I wish I had more info to go on besides that. I'll try and dig up what I can and report back.

Thanks HwangSungKyung01 for letting us know about the release of Season 2 in the US. I hope they do release it - we have too many fans just waiting for the next installment.

I hope the powers that be release all the seasons on DVD in the US. Did they ever release season 2 in Australia in April?

reply

If they don't release the second season on DVD I will kill myself. And for the record, all clowns are evil.

What makes you say that? It's just a myth.

Go away Marcus!

Ryan, don't you know I have autism too? I have Asperger's Syndrome, and I have had a history of abnormal outbursts, including those over the Internet. I would have never known you had autism until very, very recently (yes, after I posted that silly threat and called you a dickhead and a devil). On that note, I feel sorry for posting what I did. Can we at least be mutual?
