Silent Night??

What's the deal with playing "Silent Night" during the scene where Sonny uses the minigun and get killed? The movie isn't set during the Christmas season is it? They did have shoppers buying gifts but I don't remember them saying anything about Christmas. Suppose they ran out of ideas of songs cause it seemed like a weird place to play that particular song HA
