Abuse of a great song

This movie sucks, no doubt, but what does suck even more, is the fact that they abuse one of the greatest Songs ever!

All along the watchtower, performed by Jimi Hendrix

It's such a great song, used in some really good movies, but in this movie, I just had to close my eyes, so that the horrible, badly editet action sequences didn't ruin this great song!

Anyway, someone making this movie must really like Jimi Hendrix, cause Purple Haze is in it too (Shootout between Rourke and Trejo).

The Movie didnt suck . although i can respect your Opinion of the Movie but i Disagree with you and you Clearly dont know a good movie when you see on bc this was a Good movie to be a "B" type Genre and straight to dvd movie . i enjoyed every Minute of the movie and thought it was a pretty good movie . it had a good plot , good acting and a Good cast to be a B Movie . and its a action movie what more could you want from it . i take it since you didnt like the movie that you dint understand the plot to the whole movie . you must not have spent time in Prison b4 and understand where the guys are coming from in the movie bc otherwise you migh would have liked it better . but their is a plot too and them song that you are talkin bout didnt know who sang it and really dont care never really been a big fan of Jimmy Hendrix and dont really care but the Song fit the Action of the movie . which i agree they shouldnt have pu that song in their they should have had a more upbeat song along with the rest of the Music in the movie .
theirs an old saying
"Opinions are like A**holes everyone has one"

Did we see the same copies? Mine didn't have all along the watchtower, ANYWHERE in the movie, or deep purple, weird....

The version I am watching right now on Hulu hasn't had any Hendrix songs or any other actual songs in it. The part I am watching right now, the fight between Trejo and Rourke, features some sort of bastardization (or some kind of clear rip off) of Guns N Roses version of Knocking on Heavens door. It is at about 103:00.

Ha!

At 1:07:00 when the black guy lets the cops shoot him, the movie plays the tune of Oh, Silent Night (the Christmas song)!!

I just saw it on Netflix instant-play and there was no Hendrix or Deep Purple in mine either. Nothing that sounded even similar. Though they did have some guitar stuff that sounded somewhat like something Guns N' Roses would do, but I doubt if it was them.

It's not unusual for the music to be different in a streamed version of a movie. Often when the get the rights to use a song in a movie it doesn't include the same permission for when they get streamed so they throw in some really crappy knock off instrumental stuff. Probably what the case is here, with the Hendrix being from a physical copy and the bad GnR from the stream.
