Am I the only one who really hated the grandson?

Was this the son of one of the crew or something? The kid may as well have been reading off of cue cards. He either mumbled all of his lines to the point of being almost incomprehensable, or he over-acted with the same inexplicable vehemence as the guy in The Undead screaming "STAY!!" And always in that incredibly smug tone that can come only from being spoiled in a stereotypical white bread middle class upbringing.

Borgnine has had some real highlights to his career, but being able to be on set with that kid and not smack the crap out of him, Jesus... give the man a medal or something.

No, you were definitely NOT the only one who hated that kid...

My favorite garbled line of his was:

"What did Mad-ad-el-in-ine wish for?"
Kills me every time.

***We also make keys!***

reply

You could see him looking off-camera when he did that. "Did I do the line okay? Are we still rolling?"

reply

Yeah, the little boy was a waste of space. He wasn't even cute.

Often they at least get a cute little kid, even if he can't act.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

reply

Yes. Fred Savage did that role much better.

Ten, nine, eight, and all that!

The grandson was so annoying that I was almost glad that he was going to be scarred for life by this 'fantastical tale' that his grandfather was telling him. :P

WOW. I'm definitely in the minority here. Generally little kids who deliver stilting lines realllly get on my nerves.

I found this little kid to be...<squirms> huggable. I willing to pluck my own eyes out be revealing this, but...I thought he was an adorable little fart.
