I was going to start a thread about how carter was guilty but...

You all beat me to it. It makes me sick how terribly this movie lies.

Believing the accuracy of this movie is like believing in the tooth fairy.

I agree totally. At first, I believed it, thinking it was an encouraging/inspirational story about a wrongfully accused man fighting to prove his innocence. Yet at the same time, something was tickling my suspicions. Soon, I found several sites that strongly indicate Carter's guilt, such as Cal Deal's. To my shock, it was LOADED with information contradicting the movie in just about every way. Indeed, there have been, and still are cases where people are wrongfully accused of murder. And it's horrible. Yet, this is not one of them. They picked the wrong case for that. They should have researched the whole case objectively, instead of just taking Carter's word for it, then they would have seen that this man wasn't worth a movie about him. Even bigger question, how did Denzel Washington feel about it, when he was informed? He IS a wonderful actor. I've always been a fan of him, and always will be. He did do a wonderful job in this movie, no kidding about that. They simply should have chosen another case, instead of this one. As for Carter...I will not judge him. That is for the Almighty alone. Only the Almighty knows the exact/true story. All I know is, Carter isn't the saint the movie portrayed him as, or innocent.

I liked your post until you started rambling on about the almighty and judgement.
