Eyesight

It's a bit silly to start a topic in this board about an 11 year old movie, but I watched it only this week as an online movie rental. Never heard of this movie or saw it before.

Wayne, the pig farmer, comments on the bad eyesight of Iowa men, when chatting up June.
But what was wrong with the eyesight of Dennis to overlook Dorrie in all these previous years? I thought she was quite pretty and a nice person. Didn't she give him enough encouragement or what?
