What is MST3K?

I'm confused because everyone keeps talking about this MST3K thing on message boards of really bad movies.....and I have no idea what it is!!! Can someone explain?

This must be like the 10th time I've seen someone ask this on the boards. It's amazing how many people have never heard of Mystery Science Theater 3000!

Mystery Science Theater 3000 was a show about a guy and his robots who were forced to watch really bad movies. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094517/

And it's one of the funniest shows ever made.

MST3K was a show that was on not to long ago where 3 guys would all sit infront of some of the worse movies of all time and poke fun at them. Some of the best comedy ever. Mystery Scince Theater 3000

Perhaps he lives in one of the 200 or so countries in this world that's not called "USA", like 95% of us? Okay, I guess MST has been on a couple of other places as well. And you can get episodes on DVD, or download with P2P software. But it's not as universally well-known as some people seem to assume.

I hadn't heard of it myself until recently... and I lived in the US (Hawaii) in the 90's, I just had better things to do than watch cable TV. (But now I spend all summer watching really bad movies, what does that say about me...)

A lot of people haven't heard of MST3K. I didn't until it was off the air...
No reason to call people MOROOOOONs for not knowing.

yeah there was this kid at my school who said MST3K sounded stupid, and i almost bitch slaped him. lol.........cuz i am a die hard mistie.........or how ever you spell it lol...

Have to admit it kinda of stuns me too that others have not heard of it. I didn't start watching until after it stopped airing but I always knew it existed because it was so popular!
