If you type in zoog.com it will still take you to the Disney Channel website.

Yes, I remember the first zoogs too! They had two versions of them, I believe. I still remember how my brother and I thought it was SO weird to not have zoogs anymore. It felt like something was missing, lol.

Does anyone else miss those behind the scenes things they did where they played music in the background and asked the stars for their opinion on a topic? They used to feature Raven, the Mowry twins, Lizzie, Shia, etc. I remember the one on 9/11.

Yeah, disney used to be awesome.

reply

I didn't like the Zoogs. They were too annoying.

I liked the zoogs, but I can see what you're saying. Even still you gotta admit the shows/movies were really good in the Zoog period.

You're right, Disney had some great shows back then, like Going Wild with Jeff Corwin, So Weird, and this one. I miss Jett Jackson most of all!

Oh my gosh. I remember that. They were so obsessed with the internet because that was when it was just starting to become popular with kids. I remember sending an email to Dot(?)! Haha!

Did anyone else waste time on the zoogdisney games?? Anyone else play the volleyball one and the Jett Jackson one with the flying ball thing that you had to catch with the glove? (The thing from the movie.)

Where did those days go?

I'm 14, so I don't really remember the Zoogs everyone is talking about, but I remember always going on the computer and typing in "zoogdisney.com" and playing all those games.. There were really fun Lizzie McGuire and That's So Raven ones in like, the early 2000's.

I miss the zoogs to death! I liked the computer zoog and the girl... i remember browser. zoog disney was *beep* awesome and the disney channel nowadays is trash. the famous jett jackson was one of the best shows ever! i just looked at pictures of lee thompson young recently and he still looks the same! haha it's kind of funny.

yess! i soo remember the zoogs. i miss the old disney SO MUCH! they would have the top 5 video countdown on saturday mornings, and they featured concert specials on the popular music at the time. i remember one on the backstreet boys, britney spears, and even aaron carter. but man the shows were awsome! i wish they made a seperate disney channel where they would show this whole era of disney exactly like it was back in the 90's. i would pay whatever money to get that channel! lol

reply

i agree about getting a channel with all of those great shows. i would rather have a channel with those shows instead of Toon Disney, i would cancel Toon Disney if it helped me get a classic channel. we need a classic Disney and Nick channel so much. i remember when i was really young i would stay up late and watch classic movies like the old Shaggy Dog and Flubber, and the classic Mickey Mouse Club. i loved watching all of those great classic movies.

People always say that but to be honest you can say the same about Disney even making a channel altogether. They've always had a target audience of "teenyboppers" for the most part. Think about the MMC and the movies they made. If it's done right it could be a good audience to target. You can make programs for kids and older folks too. I do miss the variety they had.

During the time of Zoog Disney, DC was the most diverse it's ever been, so I don't see how people say it led to the current state it is now. I just wish it would have stayed that way.

Now considering DC being the way it is now (doesn't mean it had to be the demise, change is inevitable) but what I think most went wrong is their focus on money first, entertainment second. The whole teenybopper thing is just an easy market to make money from.

And Lizzie McGuire was the most teenybopper-ish show that you could get on DC at that time.

I do agree about the cartoons though. I wish Disney would create more of a balance.

Also sorry if it seems like I'm attacking you, I'm just venting because I hear people say that all of the time. It may have been a factor but it's not the whole picture.

I prefer the look Disney took after the Zoogs, their new logo is a lot better, anyway. But the shows during the Zoog area were great and are missed.
