Jett's family

I know his mom and dad were divorced and his dad's grandmother had Jett and his dad living in her house. I only remember Jett's dad mentioning his own dad (Jett's grandfather) in an episode, and one episode showed Jett talking to his (I think) great-great grandfather where no one else (on the show) but Jett could see him. I'm wondering why his grandparents were never mentioned more than once?

Yeah, I don't know. Watching it in 2009 I'm wondering that myself. I guess it never really came up as an option to include them because they already had a grandmother type, even though she was a great grandmother. I know they didn't really address it but maybe some of his grandparents died. Who knows?

There are a couple of things I find myself asking about this show.

Plus I had forgotten it was so funny, I knew it combined good drama with a little comedy but there are things I don't remember until I see it, and there are such good memories that come with it.

Which reminds me, I'm long overdue to see an episode. I haven't seen one in a while.

Even though I'm an adult person watching this show, I like it because I think it's better than some of the newer shows aimed at teenagers today. Lee Thompson Young is 25 now, but I also liked his character as Akeelah's older brother Devon in "Akeelah and the Bee." I also liked him in "Friday Night Lights."

I agree, I wish this was the type of show my nephew (who loves Disney/Nickelodeon) could watch. He's about the age I was when I first saw it, he's a tween and I'm sure he would really like it along with alot of the other shows they used to play. But it's hard for him to visit when they air it. They really don't make them like this anymore.

My sister jokes that I have her watching it now, she's a little older than me and she remembers when I watched it back in the day.

Oh yes! I love Lee Thompson Young as an actor. I've seen most of his projects. I loved his character in Akeelah (seriously he was great, who wouldn't want a brother like him), and I liked his role in Friday Night Lights as well.

I read your post and thought maybe you could tape or DVR the show for your nephew to watch when he visits.

That's true. So late. But now they don't air it anymore and I don't think I can tape on my new tv without it being complicated. Guess I'll have to get a DVR. But now I don't know if they'll air it again anyway so...who knows?

I have the movie taped but that's useless without the show. I might show it to him anyway. I know he would have loved the show and thought Jett was cool. Unfortunately, he would have also loved the rapping :)
