This was an amazing show! Up there with Friends

I rewatch it every few years, and lm surprised every time. Its really really great for a sitcom. Incredibly watchable.
I laugh out loud several times an ep.

There we were, minding our own business, when kids started killing themselves all over my property.

I agree. One of the funniest sitcoms ever. Ted Danson is hillarious. I have never related to a tv character as much as with Becker. I am rewatching again now, and I always find it amazing that this show wasn't more popular. Very underappreciated. It's a shame really.

I never caught it when it was on prime time, but the first time I did see it, I was hooked

Becker will forever be one of my favorite sitcoms ever. I was really young when Becker first premiered but I did catch random episodes here and there as my parents watched CBS comedies on Monday and I always liked it even then but at the time Still Standing was my favorite. As I got older and having rewatched both series many times over the years, I still love Still Standing but Becker is a truly amazing timeless sitcom that I'll be watching 10, 20, 30 years from now. I'm currently watching both Becker and Still Standing again along with 2004's short lived CBS sitcom Listen Up (another favorite of mine that I also liked back in the day) and a few episodes here and there of Yes, Dear. Becker is such a good show and I'll never understand why it is so under appreciated. I hope it enters syndication again sometime soon.

Its a great show indeed, although its not a show thats easy to recommend, unless they already like Ted Danson.

But im also surprised that its very good to watch again, although i didnt like the change to Chris the first time i watched it, probably wont like it now either, but maybe im more forgiving this time, or maybe its worse, either way, i very much like the first 3 seasons again so far.

I like how much he complains, it always reminds me of a funny House MD., mixed with Seinfeld, because of the pessimism and cynicism, plus the low key intro song.
Linda always annoyed me a little bit though, because shes like the Kramer from Seinfeld wildcard character, many times a bit too unrealistic, but also good for laughs too, so its not so bad eventually.
I get that shes there because Becker is too cheap to hire a proper skilled person, but shes not doing anything anyway, ah well.
But i guess the same thing can be said about Jake, because how does he run his business when he cant even get around NYC without getting lost or robbed.
Maybe its more of a charity or project job, but whatever, its a sitcom after all :)

Ive never heard of the show during its initial run, it probably did not air in the Netherlands where i live, but i stumbled upon it during a Cheers binge, happy that i found it too.

Well season 1 is genius and season 2-3 are great too.

After that it starts to decay, though.

I cant compare it with Friends since I never watched that show.

Different strokes I guess as I would not compare this great show to that. Think Friends is way overrated.

Have you watched Friends?

Oh what a day. What a lovely day!

reply

Diff'rent Stroles doesn't even compare to this show. Hahahaha

Haha :) my thoughts initially 😂

Oh what a day. What a lovely day!

Friends is really funny. The only people I have ever heard who say it is overrated are people who don't like the characters so never really watched.

It was great to see Ransom play a character totally opposite of Sam Malone.
