Even as a kid, and especially now as I'm an adult, I always thought that it was a d*ck move that Linus did to Charlie Brown in this special. Here he's spending all this time trying to find this mystery girl with Charlie Brown and then he finally finds her, and Linus totally takes her from him. I don't buy the whole, "Linus was in love and didn't realize it." Oh please.

The moral of the story is that if Charlie Brown had only went up and talked to her himself Linus could not have stole her from him and she may have invited them both to the BBQ.
shareYes, Charlie Brown should well have learned exactly lesson (though he probably didn't). Nevertheless, there was another lesson to learn here, which is that Linus is an *beep* and not a true friend. Vigilant self-confidence is an important defense against cockblockers, but when one manages to slip her past you for whatever reason you should avoid exposure ever again.
And no, Linus didn't "do all the work." No one forced him to follow Charlie Brown around looking for this chick. He did it under pretext of being supportive of a friend and wound up totally screwing Charlie Brown. Some "friend."
