Is this the movie with the dryer scene?

Like a lot of you, I felt like I was the ONLY person in the WORLD who remembered this movie. I remembered the name of it, but not much of the story-line until I found this website. Anyways, I vaguely remember a scene from a movie I watched as a kid, and I'm wondering if it's from the Hugga Bunch.

All I remember is a little girl (cartoon girl or stuffed doll that came to life maybe?) somehow got into the dryer, and the dryer door got closed and the dryer was turned on while she was in there (maybe by the mom, i have no idea)

I'm thinking that the dryer door had a glass window thing on it so that you could see the laundry going around and around, because I think I remember seeing the little doll or cartoon girl spinning around...

AM I CRAZY? WHAT CHILDRENS MOVIE IS THIS SCENE FROM??

yeah. thats this one.

Yeah..there was a dryer scene! There was also a washing machine scene too..I think.

I'm not sure if this is all correct, but I seem to remember that the hugga bunch character, the girl that comes into the house throught the mirror, gets accidentally put into a laundry basket (was she hiding under clothes or something..not sure) and then the mom puts the laundry into the washing machine. We see the hugga bunch girl spinning around..well, the human girl comes frantically looking for her..sees her in the machine and takes her out..she's all soapy and dizzy. I think the girl then puts the hugga bunch girl in the dryer..or maybe not, lol, because I also seem to remember her going to her room and drying her off with a hair dryer. Anyway..that's what I recall :)

yeah, I REMEMBER NOW!! Oh I've got to buy this movie, lol!!

One of The Huggins hides in the laundry basket and gets washed....all soapy and stuff. You could see her spinning in the laundry! lol...

the girl panicked, i think, trying to find her, and finds her in her wet laundry or even in the washing machine...

hahahaha. I am crackin up and its 3am and my fiance thinks I am nuts! I have got to get htis movie!!

reply

This is the movie- but the doll was actually put into the washing machine- not the dryer

reply

yeah cause they have to dry her off afterwards.

I remember because I had that doll and I wanted to do that to her

Yeah, I finally got the movie after about 15 years of wondering what movie it was. I watched it last night. The scene is that Huggins is walking around looking for Bridget and the mom walks by and throws a load of laundry on Huggins. Then she proceeds to put the load into the washer. Bridget comes by and witnesses Huggins going round and round in the washer and proceeds to save her. THEN she drys her with a hairdryer and fixes her hair up and puts her dress back on her that has been dried. SO CUTE.

i remember this pert right before that, when the huggin goes " Bridget... whered ya go?" in some creepy voice/style... the machine washwas creepy too

reply

wow.. doesnt she put curlers or sumtin on her hair after the whole washing machine incedent. then a red hat("cap"). and theres like a bookworm and a fire breathing wooly mammoth.. weird movie, i love it lol

I think I remember there being a villian in the movie.. I'm not sure if that's true.. but there was a witch or something. They were on a mission through the secret world and they walk down this brick road.

Does anyone remember this?

Am I thinking of the right movie?

reply

LOL!! The dryer part was all I could remember of this movie! I thought I was crazy! I've been years trying to find out the name of the movie! Finally found it!! YAY!

Ditto. It's so funny that this one scene has stuck in so many people's heads!

I was born in 1983, so i was 2 or 3 when I watched it. And all I remember of it was:

- the doll spinning in the washing machine
- an isolated image of the green monsters coming at them when they first enter the castle. (In my memory, I just remember the monsters-- I do not remember the fact that they were going into a castle. I do not remember the behemoth that was right outside the castle.) I think I probably ran out of the room and had my mom turn the movie off at that point because it scared me so effing much!

To this day, my personal definition of "monster" IS those green guys.... So yes, you could say this movie made an impression on me.. Haha!
