There is 2 versions. When was the animated one released?

People on here seem to be saying this is a live action film, and I looked it up on youtube and it certainly is, but there is another version, same story called "Hugs For Grandma" it's animated, and also Hugga Bunch. Which seems to explain why some people are asking about parts of the movie other people don't seem to remember (it's from the animated film). I don't know if anyone has made a post about this yet, I read almost all the threads sorry if I am writing something someone pointed out years ago. I wanted to know which came first the animated version or the live action? I had no idea there was a live action, I only ever saw the animated version which I owned on vhs (part of a 3 story set). Does anyone know which was first or what year the animated one came out? Or anything about the animated one? It really creeped me out as a kid.

Thank you! I also only remember an animated version and here it appears that many are talking about a live action one.

I don't know which one came out first or even how to find the animated one. I also owned it on VHS but it was lost many years ago

I have the animated one on VHS. It's called :

Hugga Bunch A Golden Book Video Storybooks Brought to Life:

it contains 3 different cartoons (I use the word "cartoon" loosely because it's actually only illustrated still images with certain parts that move. Example - All of the characters blink their eyes, but their mouths NEVER move when they talk. It ends up being SUPER effed up looking.
