Similarities to 'Bewitched'

I just saw this movie and thought it was great! And it was really interesting how many similarities "Halloweentown" had to the TV show "Bewitched" (not the movie). It's a cool tribute.

- The kids' mother is a witch who married a mortal, and she's trying to give up the witch world (Gwen=Samantha; Marnie=Tabitha; Dylan=Adam)

- Their grandmother is trying to convince the kids to celebrate their witch heritage, like Endora. In "Bewitched," Endora was played by Agnes Moorehead, who was known as "Aggie" to her friends... which included Debbie Reynolds ("Grandma Aggie" in "Halloweentown.")

- At one point, Aggie says "Oh my stars!", which was Samantha's catchphrase on "Bewitched."

- A lot of the issues about mortals vs. witches are addressed.

- Kalabar, Gwen's old charming-but-evil warlock boyfriend, had a lot in common with Samantha's old charming-but-evil warlock boyfriend George.

Agreed! It does remind me of 'Bewitched' and Gwen (character and the actress) especially reminds me of Samantha (character and the actress).
