She runs straight-legged!

In the sequences where Penelope is running, she appears to never bend her knees - just straight legs kicking forward! Anyone ever notice this?

Actually, it would be harder to animate that bizarre run that a regular one.

I remembered hearing they had tested a walking pattern while animating her, and it was so funny and over-exaggerated that they just left it like that.

Maybe she was a rockette at Radio City on days when she didn't have a race.

I've always believed it was drawn that way because it was easier to draw but it could have been too it clearly made her look as if she were darting away from danger ASAP while regular "running" might have come off like she were merely jogging.

Noticed it? My brothers and I used to make fun of it all of time 40-some years ago.
