OK, I was about 10 when I first saw this in the UK, but am I the only one who thought Cupcake was a real Cutie?

I'd've happily jumped into that ship :-)

No..you are definitely not the only one. I was around 13 when this first aired in the US and found her simply adorable. Although Didi Conn (Cupcake) was voicing next to three top veterans from Happy Days, she often stole many scenes.

If I saw her today I'd yell out... "Hey Cupcake!!"

So why wasn't the show about her? Why bring a greaser mechanic from 1957 Milwaukee and his friends into it?

Because at the time (fall of 1980) there had been no live show called Cupcake in its 8th season that had been the number one sitcom in America.
