everyone loves him, but is it moreso because of the nostalgia? i mean, a majority of the "experiments" were cookie cutter activities to keep kids busy. and we claim that bill nye taught us so much, and yet the field of science struggles in america. anyone else ever wonder this?

Read up on Bill Nye's REAL credentials and you'll find them quite lacking. Your local high school chemistry teacher is more qualified. His only true accomplishment is that of being "The Science Guy" character on TV... and the best part about the show was the theme music.
