Very chilling!

I watched this as a youngster (8) or so in the early sixties as part of the 'Tales from Europe' transmissions on BBC Television.
I remember well the wicked stepmother, and the scenes where she dressed as a peddler really were chilling for a young viewer.
I never quite forget this picture and managed to aquire a VHS copy in 2002!
Unfortunately the Network Video company has this release with german dialogue.
