City Cinematheque, which is a production of The City College of the City University of New York (CUNY), recently showed this film & a Russian literature/film Professor gave a talk on it.

I really enjoyed this film: it's Chekhov & a great story, a 1977 film done in Soviet Russia, good acting, enjoyable cinematography & very easy sub-titles. Check out the Chekhov!
