I just DO NOT understand. The father and daughter just didn't have to go along with it from the beginning. He didn't have to turn her in to an institution. All he had to do was so say "Listen, there is no child, stop playing these games, now I am going back to work". POINT BLANK PERIOD.

Therapists these days encourage women to get a baby doll and pretend that is a real child, as a way to cope with childloss. It is supposed to help heal the wounds.
