Wrong Genre?

When i first watched this movie i seriously thought this was a comedy. then i went here and found out the truth, it's a drama. is it just me or does the concept of this movie sound ridiculous? invisible children? right... the lady thinks she has an invisible child named "Maggie"? right... lol.

LMAO, that movie was f-ed up!!! It should be a comedy cuz I laughed so freakin hard. A grown woman imagining a child? PALEEZE!!!! Whoever thought of this plot was high on household cleaners and should never be able to think again. ok, that's a little harsh, but you get my drift.

I'm SO glad I'm not alone here...I saw it years ago too and was convinced it was a comedy. Well, it was for me anyway! I laughed so hard I was crying. The best is when she buries the Invisible Child(LOL) in the backyard. WHAT AN INCREDIBLY INSANE ENDING TO THE MOST RIDICULOUS TV MOVIE EVER MADE!!! BRAVO!

I have not yet seen this movie. I bought it today because I thought the concept of it sounded interesting. After reading this, I am starting to wonder if I should have just saved my money. At least it was only $5.00. Anyway, you don't seem to understand delusion like that. To the mother, that "Maggie" child did exist. She saw the child, she talked to the child, and it was as real as anyone else. Delusional behavior can be very interesting to study. The problem is that usually, the delusional person is holding a very high powered weapon, and isn't too keen on the idea of being studied.

I saw it yesterday and honestly thought it was okay. I may have been influenced by being in a really bad mood and needing ANYTHING to entertain me, but it did the job. I was entertained and fascinated by the mother's abilities to see Maggie at all costs. Don't expect too much and forget all about reality and you may enjoy it.

I saw this last night and I was trying to think if I had ever seen a dumber movie. You guys are right. I was laughing in this movie also. When the lady was talking to "Maggie" at the hospital and there was someone sitting across from her. LMAO Wow

*spoilers*

I mean the story on how this all started was so lame. No twisted story or anything. The dad just explains "Well one day she came down and told me the baby had kept her up all night with colic". "I thought it was a joke." "I THINK it was because of.." blah blah blah. He THINKS it's because of something to do with him having to work a lot and she thought this would make things better? LOL WHAT A JOKE!!!

I was laughing at the hospital scene, too. I couldn't help it. And I was sitting there thinking I know this isn't supposed to be funny. And yes, the dad's story about why she invented the child is incredibly lame. And I was just generally offended. We never get to find out what in the world is supposed to be wrong with the woman. Mental health professionals must hate this movie more than everyone else. And we're actually supposed to believe that it's really over after they bury the non-existent kid? Like she isn't going to make a new one? And when she says "thank you" to her husband at the very end, is that not a lame indication that she was thanking him for going along with the whole charade? That ending made me want to scream. Well, I didn't get quite that emotional, but you get the picture.

Soon to be released.....Invisible Child 2.....which the mom will call Tom Hanks in honor of her real life hubby. And the British nanny will be Mel Peachey from Playmania. Should be awesome.

How anyone found this movie funny must have no heart. There are people who have mental breaks and illusions after something so dramatic happens, especially the loss of a child. I pray none of you or someone you know goes through something like this.

Totally agree with your comments deppsgirl18. I can never have a child so I have a cat that I consider my "daughter". It has helped me be able to be around people with children and helped me not miss having a human child so much. I know my cat is not a human, but the pretending makes things bearable. That is why I understood the mother and what she did. Her reason could have been anything from a miscarriage only she knew about or because she did not have her husband around enough, or even because she might not have been able to have or handle a real baby. I do not know. But she did cope and her family loved her and rallied around to help her until her sickness was over.

The concept of this movie does not sound ridiculous. A person who can not have children and so treats a pet similar to a child, talking to it is not ridiculous. The mother created this child out of some need or pain in her life. That is quite a good concept and the movie portrayed that beautifully and thoughtfully.
