What the?

Ok, I'm going on a rant here and I promise I'm not trolling, but there's so much love here for this movie I simply don't understand.

I thought it was terribly acted and cliched and I wanted to punch Winona Ryder in the face the entire time. Jolie was not much better, very self aware and vain the entire time (yes, I know she was a sociopath but I'm talking about her acting in the role, not the character) she played that role. There was absolutely no semblance of reality what so ever as far as I could see.

This is a grossly overrated film and I found it just embarrassing to watch for all parties involved.

Now go ahead and crucify me, see if I care.

I need to read the book, me thinks...

Obviously you've never spent time in a psychiatric facility. As someone who has, I can say this movie was pretty spot on.

It's a true story

It was refreshing to see that not all the usual stereotypes (wicked orderlies, twisted doctors etc) had an airing. But I didn't find the story that compelling.

It seems to have a lot of love as you say at this site, but it was never widely critically well - received and the real Susanna Kaysen wasn't enamoured with the film adaption of her memoir.🐭

Angelina Jolie won an oscar for this role. Now please sit down

I thought Jolie was *fantastic* in this role ~

Perhaps you shouldn't watch anything but cartoons if a film like this brings out this kind of violent desire.

I drank what?
