One of those cases where the Remake was better

I just saw this film a few weeks ago and latter re watched it the same day I watched the original ( the 50s version) and I have to tell you that this one was better.

The fifths version was good and loved Deborah as Sarah Miles buy in General in the 90s version is much better.
Ralph and Julianne Moore had the better chemistry and their performances were better as well. Ralph had that intensity and expressive look which made him much more belivable as the Jealous Lover and Julianne portrayed better the guilt she felt by being in that affair with Bendrix.

Deborah even though was great and very engaging she was too cute and sweet when she was with Bendrix meanwhile the truth is that their relationship as first was more lust and passion something she didn't have with her husband and that part missing was much better portrayed in the 90s version.

Maybe they were helped by the allowance of sex scenes which I fisrt I had the suspicion were un necessary, beautiful and sexy but gratisious nonetheless hehe but after watching both I realized the love scenes were needed.

And Neil Jordan did a great job in this, though it's not surprising since I knew he was good directing some hot scenes since he did so with The series The Borgias which i loved
