Oscar for this role instead of Monster's Ball

I agree!!!

This movie was not released in theaters therefore it would not be an Academy Award movie.

Exactly. Halle did win an Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild for it. She deserved all of them.

Losing Isaiah is the movie she should've won an Oscar for.

Don't eva let nobody tell you you ain't strong enough

Preposterous overblown hyperbole. Berry has never been anything more than adequate...

Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit shootin' smack...

yeah its too bad that this wasn't a cinematic release because her acting efforts in this was very oscar deserving, whereas monster's ball was just gratuitous. The only person's acting i liked in that movie was sean combes.

Angela Bassett should have won an oscar for her role in waiting to exhale!

reply

I completely agree with Waiting to Exhale. That movie was overlooked by the Academy entirely.

A lot of HBO movies have much better performances than most movies released theatrically, beacause most are passion projects and aren't regulated by focus groups and highest possible box-office gross.

reply

Yes, thank you. Some made for HBO films are very good. Brent Spiner was good in this movie too!

reply

Her friend would say anything for her 15 minutes

reply

Thank you!!
