THIS SHOW WAS A LACK OF RESPECT

I know I will get many enemies, taking into account that you all love this crap, but for me this was the worst idea anybody could have. These actors are as funny as a Stonehenge rocks, specially the kids and Fester (hey, Michael Roberds, go back to your cell right now!!!). Come to think about the original Addams Family from 1964, and these non-talented learners of clowns don't reach even the soles of Carolyn Jones, John Astin, Raul Julia and Anjelica Huston. By the way, I have a question: dear John Astin, whatever made you accept a part in this pot full of stupidness??? One of my idols fell down...

Hey, that's my opinion, not the real truth. But it's the truth for me. I give it a thumb down. But pressing the launch button, that will send a rocket fulfilled with these "actors" to the moon and beyond.

reply

That's your opinion and your entitled to share your opinion but so am I and it may not live up to the orginal but for a remake it wasn't half bad.

Yeah I know, it almost seemed like the characters were making fun of the old show rather than recreating them.

The ORIGINAL Addams' Family was just a family who followed there own star and were basically good people and would NOT harm anyone, they just did their own thing, they were into witches, toadstools and things like that.

In the new show they were more like CRIMINALS! Always setting fire to people's property, trying to kill or hurt someone, they even set fire to a nursing home. The REAL Addams' Family was NOT like that! They just beleived in "harm none, do as ye will." And in the new show Gomez was proud of his kids of setting fire to a nursing home, I don't think the REAL Gomez would have been!

Really the only character I liked in the show was Gomez *Glenn Taronto*. I HATED Wednesday, what's the deal making her SO different from the way she was on the original show!? The one on the old show was a sweet kind hearted girl, and was prolly the nicest, kindest member of the family, and here she is Satan in the flesh.

Most people see things that are and ask "why?", I dream things that never were and ask, "why not?"

Hmm...that sounds exactly like her in the movies: I think people liked the psychotic version of Wenedsday better than the 60's version for some reason.

I call movies that are considered 'bad' hated movies.

reply

You do realize Christina Ricci already played Evil Wednesday in the 90s movies which came out way before this did, right?

And of course they do... evil girls are funnier and more entertaining than sweet ones, especially in a weird family like this. They can't win.

Bone, it is what it is.

reply

I know she did and I didn't care for that either, but that's just me.

I liked the old show of an unconventional family who was a bit out of kilter with "normal" society and a bit strange but were still about the nicest people you could ever meet with hearts of gold.

They might have been odd and even kinda scary sometimes but there was more love in their family than in most "normal" families, they were millionairs but totally giving and unselfish with their money unlike most rich people, and they always treated their house guests like royalty. Honestly I think so-called NORMAL people could take a lesson from the 1960's Addams' Family.

Just because we lose today's battle doesn't mean we've lost tommorow's war.

Fox at the time wore in a rut but I did like The new Addams Family,
I did like the whole main cast. It was a campy version much like
Batman from the late 1960's which I also liked lucky now
Batman is back Dark Knight mode and never too return that way.

But I did like the show taped every day
So really It had fans and seems it still does.

That's what really matters Is fans of this show
And All the ADF genarations.

I agree with you man, im a big Addams fan, and i just hate this show, its pure blasphemy!!!

reply

A agree, this show fooled me as a kid, I watched it many time but it never amounted to the original cast. The new addams family tried much too hard and it became annoying

reply

I think the original was possibly aimed at a broader audience, whereas the New Addams family was primarily aimed at kids. Having said that, I know I'm not the only adult who thinks the new show is actually quite good.

reply

I'm 24 years old and The new ADF was not a lack of respect
Everybody from one era says their verison is the best.

60-70's had their fans
80's had their fans
90's has their fans

I liked all of it , From live action to cartoons
I will be a fan.

And If anybody has a problem with that
I have Uncle Fester type of ass and anybody who mocks this show
and can kiss my Undead ass!

'Cept for me. I'm 23 and I think the old black and white show was vastly superior. I don't think this show was disrespectful, it just wasn't as funny.

reply

The girl who played Wednesday was very good- loved her deadpan delivery. But otherwise it was mostly a pointless remake. Why make a new version of the show when you can just show the old one?

"Smithers, I believe this dog is a member of the Skull and Bones."

I love this show! I grew up with the original and I love that too! It's a big world, we can all fit in it.
