I really, really liked this movie. Can't give an opinion because I am not very used to watch british movies ( living in Argentina :( . .... )

I don't know the answer, I just know that it touched me so hard I'm still trying to recover from this story about the little tragedies of everyday life. Specially when that guy who is about to be a father quits his job, feeling totally lost and scared.
Those characaters and their lifes are so real that it bleeds.

Wonderland is definitely one of my favourite films ever. It's well written and brilliantly acted. I could watch it over and over again … and in fact I have!

I think perhaps you should watch some more films that fall into that category. It has moments, but watch Secrets and Lies, Naked, Riff Raff, Day and Night, and the Alan Clarke films he made for television. Wonderland isn't in that class.

I wont argue with that. I haven't seen a British film this good in well over 5 years.

I couldn't help thinking, as the credits rolled, that Winterbottom has saved British cinema, or at least given me some hope.

You do make a good case. If it's not the Best Brit Movie of the Last 7 years, then it definitely is in the Top 5.

i thought the cast was brilliant, and the acting first rate all around (especially gina mckee, who was luminous). all of the characters, even the most flawed, were portrayed with great humanity.

and the micheal nyman score just elevated it all. it was very moving.

micheal winterbottom is one of our most underrated directors.

Well, as everyone says one of the best and totally underrated. And blantantly the best London movie for me, cause it captures the buzz of London so well. Having lived there for 7 month I saw all these awesome locations where I thought a movie should be made for example Soho, all the bridges and the panorama view at the river Thames and so on, and Wonderland just used all these locations so wonderfully as a backdrop to tell the gripping story. Made me wanna go back so hard...

I mean the visuals as in most Winterbottom movies were great and had that documentary feeling but still were very cinematic. This director has one of the strongest visions of believeable and emotional storytelling and the right stylistic devices to do so in modern cinema.
Unfortunately I did not find the only available UK DVD at any HMV or Virgin Store so I hope I can order online soon...

I moved to London when this film came out and saw it not long after so watching it was a very personal experience and a great one too.

Somehow it really captured what it was like to feel slightly awkward in the big city, especially the night bus scene with all the drunken loud people and the poor girl going home alone.

It was very realistic and natural with good performances from all the actresses/actors, which always blows me away.

Also the music is amazing and so fitting with the emotion of the film.
Thankfully I managed to get a copy of the CD by the great Michael Nyman not long after.

I worked at a pub in London during filming and they used my pub's meeting room as a filming hq for a week...
I got to meet Shirley Gina Molly (the rubber newborn) and of course Winterbottom.
Great people!
I even got to be an extra in the cafe scene with the 3 daughters.
It was great fun... being miked and paid to sit in a cafe for hours watching the film being made.
I guess that may have skewed my view of the quality of the film but I still think it is fantastic! Very emotional and real... lonely in a city of millions. Hard to believe but so possible and well portrayed.

Didn't affect me as much as Welcome to Sarajevo but still an incredible film.
Kudos Winterbottom!
